Reimagining Midlife

The book I have recommended the most over the last couple of years is Life Reimagined: The Science, Art, and Opportunity of Midlife by Barbara Bradley Hagerty. I stumbled across this book at a time when I was questioning what success looked like and feeling the absence of close friendships crowded out by work and family. In her book she asserts that “those who thrive (in midlife) shift their energy and attention from seeking happiness to finding meaning, from achieving success to cherishing people and paying attention to moments.” Her approachable and thoughtfully researched perspective on finding purpose, marriage, friendship and work in middle age is a must read. Buy a copy, you will want to mark pages and refer back to it over time.
